Job Summary:
The SAP Portfolio & Project Management (SAP PPM) Consultant is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the design, implementation, and support of SAP PPM solutions. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver solutions that drive portfolio management, project planning, and resource management capabilities within the SAP PPM module. This role involves configuration, customization, and optimization of SAP PPM to ensure it aligns with the organization’s strategic objectives, enhances project transparency, and optimizes resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP PPM Implementation and Consulting:
- Lead and/or support the design, implementation, and enhancement of SAP PPM solutions, including Portfolio Management, Project Management, Resource and Capacity Planning, and Reporting.
- Conduct requirement gathering sessions, business process analysis, and design workshops with key stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into SAP PPM configurations.
- Customize and configure SAP PPM modules according to best practices, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry standards.
- Perform system testing (unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing), issue resolution, and provide detailed documentation.
- Lead and participate in SAP PPM project rollouts, upgrades, and optimizations.
Portfolio and Project Management Expertise:
- Provide functional expertise in portfolio management and project planning processes, including project lifecycles, financial management, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Define strategies for portfolio optimization and develop solutions to enhance visibility into project performance, resource utilization, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure effective integration of SAP PPM with other SAP modules such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP PS (Project Systems), SAP FI/CO, and third-party applications.
Client Engagement and Support:
- Serve as a trusted advisor for key business stakeholders and project managers, providing guidance on best practices for SAP PPM use and portfolio governance.
- Provide end-user training and develop supporting documentation to ensure effective adoption and use of the SAP PPM system.
- Deliver ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP PPM issues and enhancements, working with technical teams to resolve functional and technical challenges.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SAP technical teams (ABAP, Basis), other SAP functional teams, and business units to ensure integrated solutions.
- Manage project timelines, risks, and deliverables, ensuring timely completion of SAP PPM initiatives.
- Lead and mentor junior consultants or project team members as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as an SAP PPM Consultant or in a similar role implementing SAP PPM solutions.
- Proven experience in full lifecycle SAP PPM implementations, from blueprinting and design to go-live and post-go-live support.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Portfolio Management, Project Management, and Resource Planning processes.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in SAP PPM module configuration, customization, and integration with other SAP modules (e.g., SAP PS, FI/CO, MM, HR).
- Proficiency with SAP Solution Manager and SAP S/4HANA is an advantage.
- Experience in the integration of SAP PPM with SAP Fiori, SAP Cloud, and other third-party tools is desirable.
- Understanding ABAP (for functional troubleshooting and specifications) is a plus.
- Team player with leadership qualities and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Certifications:
- SAP PPM certification (preferable but not mandatory).
- SAP S/4HANA certification (preferable).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant project management certifications are an advantage.
Languages: Must be fluent in both Dutch and English
